Causeries , Poésies, Modes de vie. Bavardons en francais.

This meeting Alain our host introduced us to “ les abbreviations des sms” or text message shortcuts in
French. Sayings like: KOI29 quoi de neuf- Tkc t’es casse. A2M1 or A demain . He mentioned that he
thought LOL meant Lots of love instead of the popular Laughing out loud. With the help of Ron, we
were able to see many listing for the sms test message. French Texting – Les Textos Francais
(thoughtco.com).

Then Alain turned to Erika and asked me to recite a poem in French. I recited one of my songs lyrics a
poem to music called

Dis moisi on perdsl’amour

Dis moisi on perdsl’amour

Peut on vivre

We continued the discussion after the poem with talk of fashion week which started October 1st in Paris at the Eiffel Tower.  We talked of PETA ( People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) activists who rallied against Hermès and Louis Vuitton using exotique animal skin such as crocodile and lizard skin for shoes and purses.  We talked about the use of cow skin for leather of shoes as acceptable to us but exotic skin as hard to accept.  There is a difference between the leather made from a cow from the leather made from exotique animals like crocodiles, lizards and peacocks.

Designers’ of fashion week were advertising their line rather then creating clothes that could have utilitarian value.  WE finished our discussion with readings of fashion week and viewings of the cat walk. And one last thought was to see the trailer of Robert Altman’s READY TO WEAR.
